The
Queen Achilles Locomotive

This
is theonly surviving Great Western Railways Achilles class 4-2-2
locomotive. It was built 1894 andnamed Emlyn. It was repainted in royal
livery in 1897 and named The Queen. It pulled six royal carriages.
Withdrawn from service 1912 and latterly part of Windsor's Royalty
& Empire Exhibition at the station until the attraction was close.
The locomotive nowstands in Windsor Central Station adjacent to a
bar.
