The President of the Czech Republic His Excellency Petr Pavel wife Eva, visit Brookwood hosted by MAFCSV

On Saturday 6 May the MAFCSV were hugely honoured to host a private visit of the President of the Czech Republic His Excellency Petr Pavel, and his wife Eva to Brookwood after they attended the coronation of Charles III. Accompanied by the Czech Ambassador H.E Marie Chatardova and her husband, they were formally welcomed by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant for Surrey Steve Owen-Hughes MBE QFSM. We were joined by Rt Hon Dr Andrew Murrison MP for South Wiltshire who is currently the Minister for Defence, People, Veterans and Service Families with his private secretary. The Commonwealth War Graves Commission, who take excellent care of our headstones within the military cemetery, was represented by Andy Murray, Regional Manager South East; Robert Thomson, Senior Head Gardener and Rebecca Dowling, CWGC Gardener.
