Twenty-five images with descriptions of the village from which 252 people were displaced by the War Office in Christmas 1943. In 1948 the village & land were compulsorily purchased for military use ensuring the villagers could not return.
Water tap dated 1853 - the main source of water for all the homes in the village except Laundry Cottages. The legend reads: Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: but whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall giv him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlating life.
